Sigma-Aldrich 2-Ethoxyethanol Reagentplu

2-Ethoxyethanol is a glycol ether. It has been reported as a precursor for ethoxyacetic acid (EAA).[1] Various physical properties (density, refractive index, viscosity and speed of sound) of its binary mixtures with n-alkanes, 2,2,4-trimethylpentane and cyclohexane have been evaluated.[2] High-pressure vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data of its binary mixtures with CO₂ have been reported.[3] It can be used as a solvent in the spectrophotometric determination of iron(III) by using the ligand, N,N-bis(2-hydroxy-5-bromo-benzyl)1,2 diaminopropane (HBDAP).[4]

2-Ethoxyethanol (Ethylene glycol monoethyl ether) has been used in zebrafish embryotoxicity test (ZET).[1] It can act like a co-surfactant in the separation of highly hydrophobic analytes via microemulsion electrokinetic chromatography and solvent-modified micellar electrokinetic chromatography.[5]
