General Description

ChromoCult^®Listeria Agar Enrichment-Supplement is a homogeneous, sterile suspension of L-α-phosphatidylinositol in distilled water. Differentiation ofListeria monocytogenesfrom non-pathogenicListeria sp. is achieved through the production of a phosphatidylinositol-specific phospholipase C (PI-PLC).Listeria monocytogeneshydrolyses the specific purified substrate added to the medium producing an opaque halo around the colonies.

Application

ChromoCult^®Listeria Agar Enrichment-Supplement is used as an additive for the preparation of ChromoCult^®Listeria Selective Agar for detection and enumeration ofListeria monocytogenesand ofListeria sp. in a variety of food products.
