Millipore This Anti-Protein Capicua Homolog (Cic), Clone 6e12.1 Antibody Is Validated For Use In Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) For The Detection Of Protein Capicua Homolog (Cic). - Mill (Additional S&H or Hazmat Fees May Apply)
Protein capicua homolog (CIC) , also known as Capicua Transcriptional Repressor, Capicua Homolog, and encoded by the gene CIC, is a transcriptional repressor which plays a role in development of the central nervous system (CNS). CIC is a new subfamily of the HMG-box superfamily and the genes expression is predominantly restricted to immature granule cells in the cerebellum, hippocampus and olfactory bulb in the CNS, and thus the gene is implicated in CNS development, in particular in granule cell development. CIC appears to be central to cerebellar development and ErbB signaling as well. Recent research has demonstrated that CIC is highly expressed in certain cancers including medulloblastomas, but also the loss of expression may serve as a biomarker for other cancer types such as oligodendrogliomas.
