|---|---|
| Application | Anti-CD19 Antibody, clone HD37 detects level of CD19 & has been published & validated for use in FC, IP, IH. |
| Key Applications |
|
| Application Notes | Identification of CD19 positive B lymphocytes and malignant B cells by indirect immunofluorescence staining Leukaemia and lymphoma phenotyping Identification of normal and malignant CD19 positive B lymphocytes in cryostat frozen sections Immunoprecipitation of the CD19 antigen Studies of the CD19/21 complex in B cell activation and the control of B cell development Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user. |
| Biological Information | |
|---|---|
| Clone | HD37 |
| Host | Mouse |
| Specificity | The CD19 antigen (90 kDa) is expressed from the earliest stages of B-progenitor development, on all peripheral B cells including germinal centre B cells and all B cell lines and B cell leukaemias tested. T cell and monocytic cell lines are negative and the antigen is lost on B cell maturations to plasma cells. The antigen is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein whose in vitro inhibition will influence B cell activation and proliferation. |

| Entrez Gene Number |
|
| Entrez Gene Summary | Lymphocytes proliferate and differentiate in response to various concentrations of different antigens. The ability of the B cell to respond in a specific, yet sensitive manner to the various antigens is achieved with the use of low-affinity antigen receptors. This gene encodes a cell surface molecule which assembles with the antigen receptor of B lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. |

| UniProt Summary | FUNCTION: SwissProt: P15391 # Assembles with the antigen receptor of B lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. SIZE: 556 amino acids; 61128 Da SUBUNIT: Forms a complex with CD21, CD81 and CD225 in the membrane of mature B cells. Interacts with VAV. Interacts with GRB2 and SOS when phosphorylated on Tyr-348 and/or Tyr-378. Interacts with PLCG2 when phosphorylated on Tyr-409. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. PTM: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR. DISEASE:SwissProt: P15391 # Defects in CD19 are a cause of hypogammaglobulinemia [MIM:107265]. SIMILARITY: SwissProt: P15391 ## Contains 2 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains. |
