Background	SF3B4 is part of the SF3b complex which associates with the U2 snRNP component of the spliceosome and is essential for spliceosome assembly (1-3). SF3B4 can associate with BMPR-1A to inhibit BMP-mediated cell differentiation (4). Haploinsufficiency of SF3B4 has been described in Nager syndrome, a disease of craniofacial malformation condition (5-6). Increased copy number of SF3B4 has been shown to play a role in hepatocellular carcinoma progression (7-9).
