General Description

Agar Strips YM are ready-to-use culture media for assessment of airborne yeasts and molds with RCS^®Air Samplers. Each individual agar strip is welded into a re-sealable sleeve and 100% visually controlled, ensuring maximum safety in critical environments. Rose-Bengal chloramphenicol agar is filled in a flexible backing film. Rose-Bengal chloramphenicol agar is a selective medium for the enumeration of yeasts and molds. Chloramphenicol, streptomycin and Rose-Bengal are included as selective agents to inhibit bacterial growth. Rose-Bengal also restricts the size and height of the colonies of rapidly growing molds, which facilitates the detection of slow growing fungi.
