PAR4 (1-6) amide is a synthetic peptide agonist of proteinase-activated receptor 4 (PAR4) and an amide form of PAR4 (1-6) (Item No. ) that corresponds to residues 1-6 of the amino terminal tethered ligand sequence of mouse PAR4 and residues 60-65 of the full-length sequence. It induces aggregation of rat platelets with an EC50 value of 40 μM. PAR4 (1-6) amide (100 μM) induces smooth muscle relaxation and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2; Item No. ) release in isolated mouse tracheal segments, effects that are inhibited by indomethacin (Item No. ).
