RPI Surf-Blot 7.5, 21 Channels, 7.5cm Channel Length, 2.5 mm Channel Width

Surf-Blot eliminates the time consuming step of cutting blots into strips. Built-in liquid channels clamp directly onto the blot surface for screening of the intact blot. Surf-Blot also reduces the amount of antibody normally required for screening. Wide (2.5mm) channels allow convenient and bubble-free loading with either an 8 or 12 place pipettor. Surf Blots major difference from Brand BR and Brand I devices is the Surf-Blots convex curved metal backing plate. The other brands clamp two pieces of plastic together. The plastic bends and cannot give a good seal. The Surf-Blot has a reusable gasket, unlike Brand I which requires a new gasket for every use.

For best resuLts select a Surf-Blot with channels approximately the same length as the gel. Blot gel onto a membrane that is 1 cm longer. Surf-Blot 5.5 is recommended for use with BioRad Mini Protean.
